The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug services. We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types.
Pathways Maroubra is located in Sydney's Eastern Beaches. The out-client (non-residential) service provides adults 18 years and over a safe and supportive environment to meet likeminded peers, receive one-to-one support and engage in relevant and interactive groups.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Alcohol and Other Drug Case Worker to provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery-orientated and person-led service environment.
Reporting to the Team Leader this is a permanent, full-time position based in Maroubra. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 4.
You will successfully- Develop and monitor individual treatment plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures.- Assess client and program risk and mitigate risk in accordance with The Salvation Army's policy and procedures.- Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services.- Provide reports (oral and/or written) to Team leader as requested.- Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of referral and support options for clients.- Work collaboratively and professionally with other services.- Participate in sector events and training.
You will have- A valid NSW Driver Licence.- First Aid certificate.- Minimum of Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management).- Completed 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).- Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviours utilising de-escalation techniques.- Comply with The Salvation Army Organisational Code of Conduct which includes an alcohol, gambling and drug free workplace.- The ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes.- The ability to develop and tailor programs to meet client’s needs.- The knowledge of AOD, mental health, community services and health sectors.- Demonstrated experience and ability to work with those impacted by substance abuse, gambling and mental health conditions.- Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.- Experience working in collaboration with other organisations.
