**The Role**
the Architecture and Solutions Manager assist in directing and managing the College technology architecture and solution design. As the College has embarked on major digital transformation, this role will play a pivotal part in defining target state and, working closely with the Development Operations team, delivers quality solutions based on industry best practices.

**Responsibilities**:
Business Partnership
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with business stakeholders and senior leadership team, and be the trusted advisor
- Influence stakeholder attitudes, decisions, and actions for the organisation benefit
- Understand College vision and strategy to develop roadmaps and translate strategy into actionable plan
- Partner with College Teams to deliver value to both members and staff
- Work on resource budgeting and allocation with Project Managers and Project Sponsors

Team Leadership
- Build and lead a high performing team of Architects, Engineers and Analysts.
- Establish a good team culture that share, collaborate, and motivate each other, keeping everyone accountable and honest
- Lead by example, mentor and inspire team to do their best
- Resource allocation and budgeting
- Hiring, onboarding, retaining and exiting team members as required

Solution Architecture
- Produce the ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ architecture states for technology services, projects and program of works
- Identify, manage and mitigate risk from design decisions both at enterprise and project level
- Establish and maintain effective end-to-end design principles, governance and ways of working
- Conduct research on technology for input into business cases and recommendations.

Technical Business Analysis
- Manage the technology business analysis function and align to College and IT-specific strategies and roadmaps, ensuring business needs are given the greatest chance of success, from the outset
- Provide technical analysis to business ideas and requirements

Solution Delivery and Management
- Work closely with teams from Technology Delivery and Development Operations units, in a hybrid team environment to delivery solutions from start to finish
- Actively involved in product and service management and support

Innovation through Technology
- Identify, prioritise and exploit opportunities provided by digital technologies
- Embed innovation processes and practice continuous improvements

**Desired Skills and Experience**
To be successful in the role, you will possess the following skills and attributes;
- Over 10 years of experience in hands-on solution design and delivery, ideally with 5 years in senior IT and leadership role
- Pragmatic approach to solutions and solving problems by considering constraints, time to value etc.
- Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to acquire products and services.
- Has a can-do attitude and practises the art of the possible
- Proven track record in managing complex Customer relationships with a technology focus
- Demonstrated senior stakeholder engagement experience, utilising internal consulting skills
- Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into roadmaps that also align to the IT strategy and roadmaps
- Demonstrated knowledge of Technology Architecture and IT Service Management frameworks
- In-depth knowledge of customer service principles and practices
- Experience with emerging technologies in an innovation setting, e.g., Artificial Intelligence (AI), virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR)
- Maintain a high standard of verbose documentation and artefacts
- Adept in writing and presenting business and technical proposals
