**Pathology Collection Trainer and Assessor**- Laverty Pathology is part of Healius, we’re committed to supporting practitioners by delivering timely, accurate, and high-quality diagnostic results. We have a team of more than 2,000 people who work year-round to deliver results. While our core laboratory is in North Ryde, we have around 20 laboratories across NSW and the ACT - many based in hospitals - to ensure we can get results back to doctors as soon as possible. We also have more than 600 collection centres for patients to visit at their convenience. In addition to this, we provide several Workplace Health & Safety testings for commercial clients.- We are currently seeking full-time Pathology Trainer and Assessor to join our Regional Training team. This position is responsible for conducting training and assessment of new and existing Collectors covering; venepunctures, ECG, Holter Monitor, Spirometry, blood pressure monitoring, specific sample preparation and other specimen collections as requested by Laverty’s referring practitioners. When not actively training, you will be rostered to one of our collection rooms to maintain your customer service skills and techniques in a real world setting.- To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Certificate III Pathology Collection (HLT37215) (including HLTPAT005 collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing) or equivalent
- At least 2 years pathology collection experience from adult, and paediatric patients
- Certificate IV Training & Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent (if you are currently completing, this is acceptable)
- At least 2 years’ experience in pathology collection training & assessment
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills
- Ability to write and prepare effective training materials
- Demonstrated capability to engage trainees in a classroom setting and one-to-one
- Able to emphasise and focus learning to ensure meeting of customer service delivery standards
- A current Driver’s Licence
- Ability to communicate effectively with collections teams and leaders
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office
