The Facilities Caretaker oversees and manages the operational maintenance of the community coupled with fostering and developing close relationships with all stakeholders in alignment with Halcyon's mission, vision and values.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Promote a positive environment within the community by building close relationships with home owners and service providers
- Oversee and manage contractors/service providers to ensure compliance with both legal and Halcyon guidelines, policies and procedures
- Ensure quality on-going, operational maintenance of the community's grounds, gardens and facilities
- Manage all necessary documentation and legislative requirements in relation to Halcyon facilities and equipment
- Carry out any general maintenance requirements using discretion and escalate concerns/issues when necessary
- Actively manage and maintain the cleanliness of the community at all times
- Manage routine and scheduled maintenance and safety requirements of Halcyon's facilities, equipment and plant (e.g. test and tag, pool testing etc)
- Continue to drive home owner delight by conducting and assisting home owner inductions to facilities
- Working collaboratively with and overseeing contractors and service providers (e.g. lawn bowls, pest control)
- Ensure all activities undertaken within the community follow WHS legislative requirements
- Ensure home owner delight by keeping front yards tidy and presentable at all times
- Facilitate and manage all operational activities within budget
- Actively oversee the stock management of Facilities Caretaker supplies required for the community
- Demonstrate proficiency in all areas associated with the community grounds and ensure gardens are maintained to a high standard
- Ongoing management of equipment and facilities ensuring both compliance and maintenance standards are met as required
- Fostering and growing positive and productive relationships with all stakeholders (both internal and external)
- Ensure security is maintained throughout the community
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Contribute to team success by working collaboratively with own team members; assisting team members when needed; sharing ideas, knowledge and experience; and seeking to learn from team members.
- Actively engage in Stockland's sustainability programs and support the delivery of a community and environmental shared value proposition.
- Enhance organisational effectiveness through continuous improvement and innovation.
- Comply with all obligations imposed by WH&S legislation, as outlined in WH&S Roles and Responsibilities, including adhering to relevant documented WH&S procedures
- Actively contribute to Stockland's risk aware culture and performance through participating in operational risk training and adhering to relevant compliance and regulatory obligations.
- Undertake or participate in ad hoc projects as required.

**Qualifications / Licences**
- Certificate 3 in Landscaping or Horticultural studies
- Commercial Operators Licence in compliance with the Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control Act 1966 (ACDC) for weed spraying (both desirable, however not necessary)
- First Aid Certification is desirable
- C Class driver's licence

**Experience**
- Extensive experience in landscaping and/or garden maintenance
- Demonstrated experience in general maintenance and handy-man duties
- Experience within a community/lifestyle environment working closely with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Working closely with over 50's will be highly regarded

**Skills / Competencies**
- Strong ability to multi-task and manage a wide range of day-to-day requirements
- Solid negotiation and conflict management skills
- Flexibility with working hours to suit the needs of the community
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and being adaptive to differing situations
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent time management abilities
- Capability to competently use a broad range of gardening tools and equipment
