**About the role**
Responsibilities of this role include:
- The efficient and effective management of engineering activities.
- Planning and directing all engineering activities to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure McConnell Dowell standards of quality and safety in design and engineering are rigorously maintained.
- Conformance to time schedules, budgets and performance criteria.
- Suitable and efficient construction methods together with appropriate plant selection and temporary works solutions are available.
- Improve competitiveness of the Company through excellent engineering objectives and outcomes

**About you**
With a strong work ethic and communication skills, the successful person for this role will have the following:
- Extensive experience in the construction industry with significant exposure to design, costing, estimating and planning.
- Relevant Engineering qualification.
- Competent in use of MS Office, SureTrak, AutoCad, Lotus Notes
- Working knowledge of engineering software e.g. Wallap, SpaceGass
- Demonstrates an understanding of the broader perspective when developing plans for achieving the business unit’s long-term objectives.
- Pro-actively builds good relationships with clients and reviews service levels to meet client expectations at all times.
- Manages the activities of the team by communicating, delegating, monitoring and reviewing performance of individuals to ensure team goals are met.
- Identifies opportunities to translate the vision into deliverable, measurable results and development of management support systems.
