**About the role**:
As the Public & Corporate Affairs Manager your role plays a supporting and very hands-on role in the provision of public and corporate affairs support, expertise and advice.

In conjunction with the Executive Manager, Public and Corporate Affairs, you will manage the development and delivery of external communications, internal communications and provide an internal corporate affairs consultancy.

You will assist the Executive Manager, Public & Corporate Affairs to protect and promote Hostplus’ reputation, brand and standing, both within the superannuation sector and with the public more generally. This includes:

- Identifying potential reputational risks and supporting the Executive Manager Public and Corporate Affairs and the external media agency, in the response to current affairs, and commentary on other forums and channels, where the Fund’s reputation and repute is shaped and influenced.
- Working with the Fund’s external media agency to create and respond to media and event opportunities that give Hostplus the opportunity to promote its brand, brand pillars, benefits and distinctive advantages.
- Supporting in the promulgation of the fund’s policy positions
- Supporting in the activation, through media and other channels, the Fund’s key marketing sponsorships.

You will play a supporting role in the development of annual plans and strategies, that have, as their end goal, the enhancement and distillation of the Fund’s brand profile internally and externally.

You will monitor media on a day to basis, manage the relationship with the Fund’s media monitoring service and provide regular reporting to the Board and Board Committees on media sentiment and advertising value equivalency of earned media.

**About you**:

- Ideally you will have a strong knowledge of the Australian retirement income policy environment and the superannuation sector in particular
- Applied experience with superannuation processes and procedures
- A high level of risk and compliance awareness, especially as applied to superannuation funds’ marketing strategies and activities
- Superior relationship & organising skills
- Ability to work closely & proactively with key stakeholders across a range of business levels
- Ability to uphold integrity with confidential and sensitive market information
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while maintaining a sense of perspective and discipline
- Ability to positively influence, lead and manage others
- You can communicate with impact in addition to producing quality communications & reports
- A penchant for problem solving, consensus-building & getting things done effectively and efficiently
