**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- Full Time Ongoing (Part Time will be considered)
- Office located in Leongatha with flexible hybrid working conditions
- $92,535 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation

South Gippsland Shire Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Assurance & Compliance Officer.

An exciting opportunity exists to join Councils’ Procurement & Assurance team, where you will be part of a team responsible for imbedding a robust risk and compliance culture, processes and systems across every element of Council’s operations.

Reporting to the Coordinator Procurement & Assurance you will be responsible for providing support to Council’s Procurement & Assurance team including:

- Procurement
- Compliance and Audit
- Disaster Recovery Claims
- Legislative compliance
- Insurance
- Audit and Risk Committee and;
- Service delivery standards and continuous improvement frameworks.

**ABOUT YOU**:
To be successful in this role you will have
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Law or with lesser qualifications and a willingness to progress towards a formal qualification desirable
- Experience working within Business Administration, Legal, Legislative Compliance or internal audit environment
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to write reports and briefs and confidence to present to internal and external stakeholders
- Organisational skills, the ability to work to deadlines while maintaining a strong customer service focus

If you have the ability to work autonomously, resolve problems of a complex nature, high levels of attention to detail, strong computer skills, and with working knowledge of relevant law, we would love to hear from you.
