As a Youth Tenancy Advisor, you will play a crucial role in providing expert advice and support to young tenants, ensuring they understand their tenancy rights and responsibilities, maintain successful tenancies, develop important life skills and access necessary resources. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Tenancy Advisor to join our team. This role is **Fixed Term, Part time (34.2 hours per week) until 30th July 2025.**

Your day-to-day activities will include:

- Providing advise and guidance on tenancy rights and responsibilities and achieving their goal of securing housing.
- Conducting targeted financial, tenancy and risk/vulnerability assessments of clients to establish their housing needs and goals.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, internal and external to SYC, and stakeholders to raise awareness and understanding of the role and scope of SYC’s Tenancy Services and its target cohorts.
- Responding to incoming telephone and online enquiries.
- Working within the Service Delivery Model for SYC’s Tenancy Services to achieve outcomes specified in funding contracts and within program guidelines.

- Strong engagement skills and ability to interact effectively and sensitively with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills along with the ability to identify innovative and lateral solutions to problems.
- Communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to write timely and accurate case notes and reports.
- Time management and organisation skills, able to work both independently as well as an effective team member, to plan and achieve outcomes and to successfully meet deadlines and KPIs.

**For this role, you will need to**:

- Hold a Tertiary qualification in a discipline relevant to the applicable service agreement or currently working towards same (e.g., Legal Studies, Social Work, Youth Work, Social Sciences, Counselling, Human Services, Financial Counselling or Mediation).
- Be willing to work on a rotating roster between the span of 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
- Have possession of a current valid Driver’s License, willingness to drive.
- Prepared to work from, or be located at, any SYC site.
