Reporting to the Team Manager, the role of an Investigator VPS 3 is to investigate potential breaches of consumer law, under supervision and guidance. Outcomes of the investigations may involve taking approved enforcement actions, including Court and Tribunal actions. Under the advice and guidance of senior colleagues, the Investigator will also be responsible for undertaking and contributing to compliance and enforcement actions using the department’s integrated compliance and enforcement approach. The Investigator will also be participating in projects targeted at identifying non-compliance with specific areas of consumer law.

**About the role**

**About you**

To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

- Knowledge of and/or relevant experience in legislative enforcement activities.
- Produce a range of complex business correspondence and reports presenting clear, factual, and pertinent information based on knowledge, research and analysis.
- Confidently conveys information, using persuasion and bargaining as required, to provide clear and persuasive information and respond effectively to audience in a tactful, respectful, yet firm manner.
- Plans and prioritises work and seeks to understand alternate views and circumstances in order to address personal preference or bias and select the most effective method to ensure targets are achieved.
