We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Superintendent with Offshore experience to support our recent expansion.
**Job Description** About the role**:
Reporting to the Regional Fleet Manager, this full time position is responsible for ensuring that the running maintenance of the Emergency Towage Vessel. The technical Superintendent will maintain the technical status and maximize uptime. This position is based in Cairns.
**Qualifications** Key accountabilities of the role**:

- Ensure that day to day operations are performed in a safe, professional, efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Manage client expectations and build-up a close relationship and 'goodwill' with the customer representative/client on site.
- Coordinate and execute the daily running maintenance within budget on board of vessels.
- Monitor and follow-up on the planned maintenance system.
- Generate and approve purchase orders and requisitions and receive & inspect goods delivered.
- Supervise, coach and instruct Chief Engineers if and when required to ensure smooth and professional on board technical management
- Undertake vessel inspections and report on the status of the vessels to the Regional Fleet Manager and Contract Manager.
- Investigate and analyse root causes of defects and take timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Arrange surveys with flag state and classification authorities and other relevant parties.
- Ensure full compliance of vessel certifications with flag state and class requirements.
- Plan, coordinate and execute dry dockings in line with quality standards, agreed budgets and time lines.
- Supervise and evaluate activities and performance of third party contractors and vendors.
- Ensure damages to be surveyed and repaired in close consultation with classification societies and the insurance department.
- Optimize and implement technical (new build) standards.
- Maintain daily communication with assigned vessels.

**About you**:

- Experience in Project Management
- A strong communicator (verbal and written)
- Qualifications in Mechanical/Maritime Engineering or Naval Architecture.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years as a Technical Superintendent or equivalent.
- Harbour Towage and Offshore Experience
- Team player with a collaborative approach, maintaining high standards and good work ethics.
- High level of organisational and planning skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high quality outcomes that are accurate, complete, and timely.
