about the role

Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Marine Terminals Advisor to join the ABU Marine Operations team. Reporting to the Deputy Marine Operations Manager, this permanent role will be based in Chevron’s new building at One The Esplanade, Perth.

The Perth-based marine operations team is primarily responsible for managing operational risks at Australia’s largest Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminals, Gorgon, and Wheatstone. The role will require understanding of safe loading, storage and transfer of LNG and condensate cargoes. Expectations and responsibilities of this role will include managing marine assurance through a compatibility/vetting processes for LNG and Condensate export vessels, knowledge of training and competency management of marine terminal personnel to comply with Industry recommendations and Port regulatory requirements, understanding of maritime security and commercial knowledge of the LNG/Oil trade.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- Clear understanding of Marine environment and terminology - gained through either seagoing experience as a senior deck/engineer officer on large commercial vessels or through prior experience in a Marine (or Marine related) position- Seagoing experience on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers, Oil tankers or Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) carriers or experience in a Marine related position with an Oil & Gas major, would be advantageous- Good working knowledge/understanding of ship/shore interface specific to LNG carriers and/or Oil tankers- Navigation simulator experience in a senior capacity would be viewed advantageous- Attention to detail & willingness to learn- High level communications ability both written and oral

The role can be performed flexibly, with varying start and finish times throughout the week, along with working from home arrangements.
