About the position

The Research Assistant will undertake research activities in line with the University’s research strategy. It is expected that the Research Assistant will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop.

Project Overview:
1. Title:
_Mapping intersectionality within the Victorian sport sector workplace_

Chief Investigator: Professor Emma Sherry

Through an analysis of both historic (2016-2023) employment and current (2023-24) recruitment data in the Victorian sport sector, this research will identify:
- trends in the recruitment and employment by gender and those from diverse communities;- any areas of gender inequity or imbalances in specific sports, industry types, on and off-field roles or organisation level.

Key Accountabilities- Develop code to scrape demographic data from public LinkedIn profiles for a period from 2015 - 2023 in the Victorian sport sector;- Complete data collection - clean and prepare data for analysis;- Data analysis - undertake analysis of data collected for reporting including a network analysis.

Key Skills- Code development for digital data collection- Digital data analysis and reporting- Sport sector expertise

To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:
Key Selection Criteria- Evidence of research output including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in the field;.- Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners confidently and effectively.- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills.

**Qualifications**:
Qualification in the relevant discipline area and have commenced or enrolled to commence a PhD
