The Opportunity

We’re looking for a driven Health and Safety Manager, Rail to develop and manage a strategic approach to fulfil national rail safety accreditation, regulatory and legislative requirements for CPB Contractors.

Reporting to the General Manager, your role will include but not limited to the following:

- Developing a strategic approach to fulfil national rail safety accreditation, regulatory and legislative requirements (RSNL and AEO).
- Managing the structure and arrangement of company practices and policies, systems, processes, tools and training materials to ensure the implementation of a nationally consistent approach to rail safety.
- Participating in national rail industry and governmental working groups to promote the interests of CPB as major indsutry stakeholder.
- Raising awareness of rail industry issues, innovations and best practice across Projects and Business Units.
- Provide leadership and develop and implement safety and health management system strategies in alignment with organisation direction.
- Maintain organisational compliance with the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator and AS 4292 Rail Safety Management.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to the One HSE Culture Framework, policies, Safety Essentials and Management System requirements and expectations;
Our minimum requirements for this role are:

- A degree in a safety related or engineering discipline or related field is highly desirable.
- At least 20 years of experience in managing rail safety.
- High level of skill in developing, managing and reviewing a rail safety management system.
- High level of skill in liaising with and managing regulators.
- Demonstrated high level of skill in leading and investigate serious safety and health incidents.
- High level of skill in presenting to a broad range of forums, workshops, toolbox talks.
- Thorough understanding of the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator and AEO requirements and audit requirements.
