**The Role**:
We are seeking an experienced Head of Training and Checking looking for their next challenge to support our Fixed Wing operation. You will assume the responsibilities of the Fixed Wing Training and Checking operations in accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) regulation and be the designated Alternate Head of Flight Operations (HOFO). You will oversee all areas of the Training and Checking organisation including the operational standards of all Fixed Wing Pilots and Training and Checking personnel.

**Requirements**:

- Leadership experience in a fixed wing operational aviation environment.
- Possession of Australian Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) - Aeroplane. Minimum 4000 hours total time aeroplane.
- Minimum 3000 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC) aeroplane.
- Minimum 1000 hours Multi Engine Command aeroplane.
- Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating
- A valid Class One Medical Certificate.

Key Accountabilities

**Your Key Accountabilities will include**:

- Oversee all areas of the Training and Checking organisation including the operational standards of all Fixed Wing Pilots and Training/Checking personnel.
- Assist the HOFO (Fixed Wing) as directed in Fixed Wing operations, including management of staff, administration, executive advice, and administration duties.
- Provide policy and aviation technical advice to the HOFO on all matters impacting on fixed wing training and checking programs.
- Ensure all personnel are operationally current and proficient for the aircraft they are flying.
- Conduct ground and flight training for the issue and renewal of fixed wing type ratings.
- Recommend and drive improvements to Flight Standards, Standard Operating Procedures, Fixed Wing Operations Manual, processes and procedures.
- Provide oversight of flight standards at all times throughout the organisation and demonstrate exemplary aeronautical knowledge, crew resource management, flight and safety standards.
- Fly single pilot and/or two-pilot, instrument flight rules (IFR), on correctional, police, dignitary transport, organ retrieval and other government support tasks as required. In compliance with CASA Drug and Alcohol Management Plan requirements, the preferred applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment testing and participate in the QGAir Drug and Alcohol Management Program.
