**Eligibility**

**Division Responsibilities**
The Cancer, Hearing and Chronic Conditions (CHCC) Division leads policy development and
program delivery for cancer and cancer screening, newborn screening, palliative care,
hearing services and chronic conditions. The work of the Division ensures that Australians
have access to evidence-based, best practice programs and initiatives. We are proud of our
work in delivering positive health outcomes for Australians. The CHCC Division is part of the
Department of Health and Aged Care’s Primary and Community Care Group. CHCC currently
has vacancies to fill across all our five Branches:
- Cancer Policy and Projects Branch
- Hearing Services and Chronic Conditions Branch
- Cancer Screening Programs Branch
- Newborn Screening and Palliative Branch
- Cancer Infrastructure and Lung Cancer Screening Branch
**Key Responsibilities**
You will be working collegiately in a team environment to give effect to existing policy,
including through delivery of operational activities. You will be preparing draft briefing
papers, Ministerial correspondence, Ministerial Information Requests, and other documents
to a high standard. You will be drafting communications with internal and external
stakeholders. You will be assisting in the development of policy documents for review and
publication. You will be developing plans and objectives for short-term tasks of the work
area and contribute to strategic planning for longer-term initiatives of the section. You will
be actively contributing to a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.

detail and an ability to produce quality briefs and papers. You will have the ability to work in
a complex policy environment. You will have the ability to undertake critical analysis and
develop solutions. You will have the ability to develop a sound understanding of Australian

communication skills and ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external
working relationships. You will have the ability to take initiative to achieve results.
