**The opportunity**

Vacenti is seeking a Part-time (60 hours fortnightly, working Monday to Thursday) Lifestyle Officer to join the Lifestyle Team at Casa Damore, Coorparoo, QLD. Reporting to, and working closely with the Lifestyle Coordinator, in this role you will deliver an integrated person-centred lifestyle program which is designed to support the physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing of residents.

This role will support residents to maintain a lifestyle that meets their individual needs and enhances their quality of life. The Lifestyle Officer assists in delivering a program that provides support for individual residents and those with group interests, as well as assisting a broader social program that enables residents to maintain a sense of connection with their home.

**Your main responsibilities will include**:

- Assist in creating a monthly activity calendar that includes a mix of social, recreational, and therapeutic activities for our residents.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth execution of events.
- Organise special events, celebrations, and themed parties to create a festive and enjoyable atmosphere.
- Arrange outings and excursions to provide residents with opportunities to explore the community and engage in new experiences.
- Encourage resident participation in activities to promote socialization and a sense of community.
- Build relationships with residents to better understand their preferences and needs.
- Consider the cognitive and physical capabilities of residents when planning activities.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate therapeutic interventions into the activity program.
- Communicate regularly with residents and their families to gather feedback and suggestions for activities.
- Assist in the recruitment and coordination of volunteers to assist with activities and provide additional social interaction for residents.
- Assist in planning and organising activities and decorations for holiday celebrations to create a festive atmosphere.

**To be successful in this position you will need**:

- Lifestyle or related qualification or experience
- Experience as a Lifestyle Officer or similar role within aged care.
- A personal philosophy and practical approach that is compatible with the Vacenti PERSON values which ensure respect for the dignity, privacy and individuality of residents and staff.
- Sound knowledge of Aged Care Legislation including the Aged Care Quality Standards, electronic care management systems and OH&S legislation.
- Proven team working skills and working knowledge of resident lifestyle requirements in Aged Care.
- Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal) and effective interpersonal skills.
- To be considered for this opportunity you must have the right to live and work in Australia. If you are successful, you will be required to obtain a national police clearance prior to commencement.
