General Factory Hand/production Assistant

Warners Bay, Australia CHARLESTOWN CANVAS MANUFACTURING Full time

We have an opportunity for a motivated Production Assistant/Industrial Textile Machinist.

The position is for immediate start, with probationary period and the opportunity for full time permanent role or apprenticeship. Full time hours 7.30-4pm Monday-Friday.

**Your main duties** would be to assist in the day-to-day production of Canvas and Synthetic products, reporting to the Production Manager. In addition you will receive on the job training including;
- Industrial sewing
- Interpreting job plans and specs
- Cutting
- Assembly
- Fitting
- Use of power tools
- Knowledge of industrial têxtiles
- General cleaning and other duties as required

**To be successful** in this role we would require:

- Hardworking, positive attitude and 100% reliable
- Motivated Team player
- Drivers licence and own reliable transport (preferred)
- Be fit for manual handling duties including heavy lifting
- An eye for detail, and desire to complete tasks in given time frame
- Recent work history including at least two work references from most recent employers
- Relevant qualifications preferred, but not essential

If you have a background in dressmaking, upholstery, sail making or similar you may be considered for this role.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $42,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
