**The Opportunity**:
We are looking for an experienced, diligent, and motivated HSE Officer to join our friendly and supportive Energy team promoting a positive health, safety, and environmentally aware culture to ensure a best practice approach to the construction delivery of a renewable energy project. This fixed-term full-time position on a 10/4 DiDo roster is located in the South-West of Warwick, QLD, where you will have the opportunity to work amongst a team of professional and passionate colleagues.

- Job Description

**The Role**:
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer is responsible for promoting a positive health, safety and environmentally aware culture. To achieve this, the HSE Officer is required to work constructively with Project resources to ensure a best-practice approach to construction delivery.

Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Conduct regular onsite audits and inspections with staff and contractors.
- Maintain records and manage documentation in compliance with MTA standards through Aconex.
- Assist others to identify hazards and assess and control WHS risks via Take 5’s, Prestart meetings, SWMS, and Plans.
- Plan and conduct WHSE training, including induction, task and refresher training.
- Acquire and disseminate management information via alerts, memo’s, prestart meetings, noticeboards, etc.
- In consultation with client representatives, ensure that emergency procedures are effectively implemented and adhered to.
- Ensure compliance with safe working and environmental rules, legislation, regulations, and licensing conditions.
- Report and investigate incidents and be actively involved in implementing corrective and preventive actions in a timely manner.
- Communicate regularly with the MTA Compliance team to ensure cross-sector knowledge sharing.
- Desired Skills and Experience

**You**:
To secure an interview for this great local opportunity, it is desirable to meet the following:
- Demonstrated experience working in a WHSE capacity within the construction industry.
- Previous environmental management experience.
- Previous experience in Field construction and supervision - preferred.
- Experience working on a remote project site - preferred.
- Demonstrated initiative, capacity to solve problems and make decisions in consultation with the Project Delivery Team to achieve defined objectives.
- High-level attention to detail, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to solve problems constructively and efficiently.
- Tech savvy with patience to teach others how to use HSE systems.
- Be able to work for 10 consecutive days on with the following 4 days off.
