About the facility

MHDAS provides integrated and recovery oriented mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and drug & alcohol issues, and their families.

Our service is internationally recognised for its innovative clinical programs and integrated models of practice that are client centred, accessible and family inclusive. We are fortunate to enjoy terrific internal relationships and have developed excellent partnerships with the local community that provide for seamless integrated care for our clients.

About the role

Guided by the principles of inclusion, participation and leadership, the key role of the Lived Experience Consultants will be to enable systemic improvements across the Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Services (MHDAS).

The Lived Experience Carer Consultant role works within the team of Lived Experience workers at the MHDAS Service to deliver systemic improvements across MHDAS. The Consultants maintain a network of consumers and carers within the community and facilitate their engagement in service design and delivery and provide them with a monthly newsletter updating them as to what is happening in the MHDAS Service.
