This is a permanent role commencing Term 3, 2023.

**Key priorities**
- Experience in teaching Latin, particularly Stage 4 and 5.
- Outstanding professional practice, including demonstrated capacity to differentiate the curriculum.
- A commitment to the study of Languages for all students at Wenona.
- Ability to teach and aspire to the standards articulated in the Wenona Effective Teaching Cycle.
- Proven ability to ensure teaching and learning activities reflect contemporary pedagogy, including the ability to integrate an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning.
- An ability to plan and implement for authentic assessment that informs teaching and learning.
- A commitment to student wellbeing and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of young people.
- An ongoing commitment to professional learning, including making a contribution to the broader educational community.
- An understanding of and commitment to the educational needs of girls and young women.
- A commitment to collaborative teaching practices and an ability to contribute to a Languages team of professional educators.
- An ability to use ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom.

**Education and Experience**
- Qualifications and experience teaching Latin
- Potential to teach Italian and/or French in addition would be highly desirable
- Experience in teaching across 7-10
- NESA Accreditation
- NSW Working with Children Check

**Personal Attributes**
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to engage and communicate with all stakeholders including students, parents and staff
- Ability to inspire our Latin students and to continue to build our thriving Languages program
- Desire to use flexibility and creativity in day-to-day activities
- A sense of humour

**General conditions of the role**
- Award and Classification: Award & Classification: Independent Schools NSW/ACT Standards Model (Teacher’s) MEA 2021
- Hours of work: Permanent, Part-Time (position likely to grow to FT in coming years)
- Reporting Line: All positions report to the Principal
- The line manager for this position is: Head of Languages
- Professional Learning: You will be expected to attend and contribute to all staff professional development days and requirements as outlined in the School’s calendar.
