**Purpose of Role**

BSC is currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to support the Term 3, and Term 4, 2023, Years 7 & 8 PASE & Interschool Sports program.

**To provide;**
- support to all teaching staff and sports groups across the school to develop knowledge and skills.
- coaching support and assist in organising activities for whole groups during interschool sport and school sporting activities.
- demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to work with teaching staff and, students of varying abilities.
- can act professional and model positive behaviour to the students and build respectful relationships within the BSC community.

**Responsibilities**:

- To provide support for staff and students and to ensure staff are provided with an efficient, effective service to assist teaching interschool sport.
- To assist school staff with PASE lessons, providing appropriate support and supervision to individuals or groups of students.
- To assist in the preparation of equipment sports kit and sports materials before a sporting activity
- To assist in creating activities to support staff in training sessions.
- To assist in the creation of teams for competitions and weekly fixtures.
- To assist in umpiring if required and if confident in that sport.
- To accompany and assist in the supervision of groups of students at local sporting events in school time and out of school time as required. To liaise with outside agencies, such as sports clubs and other schools, in relation to sporting events.
- To liaise with the Director of Sport in relation to activities for promoting sport within the school community.
- To work with other adults, including teachers, and education support staff in the supervision of students
- To support the school in promoting sports and links with the local community.
- To always maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects within the school
- To report any behavioural concerns or incidences.
- To liaise with the Director of Sport to complete any administrative tasks.

**Other Information**:

- Hours of attendance Tuesday and Friday 12.30 - 3.30pm..
- There will be times that additional attendance is required. (eg Intermediate School Sport Days). Your work schedule will be updated to reflect these extra hours.
- Current Anaphylaxis Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Level 1 First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- A valid Employee Working with Children Check (essential)
- Sports qualification and or coaching qualification desirable
