We are seeking enthusiastic Grade 3 and Grade 4 Sterilising (CSSD) Technicians for both part-time and full-time positions, reporting to the CSSD Manager at Epworth Geelong
- Waurn Ponds. Your role will involve contributing to infection prevention and control as well as overall patient safety by ensuring the quality of reusable medical devices through sterilisation and disinfection processes.
Grade 4 Twilight shifts available working in loans department from Wednesday to Friday commencing at 1030 or 1100 with flexible working arrangements to assist you with your work/life balance. Remaining shifts are on a rotating roster (mix of AM, PM). Grade 3 position is on rotating roster with a mix of early and late shifts.

- Ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of service to meet the specific daily operational needs
- Ensuring accurate processes are undertaken and documented
- Actively participating in the quality improvement program within the department
- Practicing within the requirements of the RMD sterilisation standards and standard operating procedures
**To be successful in this role**:
You will support the theatre team by collection, cleaning, decontamination, inspection, testing, packing, sterilisation, storage and distribution of reusable medical devices and equipment and will be a proactive member of a self-directed and cohesive CSSD team. For the Grade 4 role, you will have experience in loans equipment, endoscopy and all other areas of a sterilising department.
You will be dedicated to quality service provision that aligns with the requirements of relevant regulations and standards, enjoy working independently within a team under the direction of a team leader and department manager, and be committed to quality improvement.
**You will have**:
- A minimum Sterilisation Services Certificate III for a Grade 3 position or Certificate IV for the Grade 4 position or equivalent
- Experience and competence working in all areas of CSSD an ability to plan, organise and prioritise work
- A commitment to excellent customer service and quality improvement
- A working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards impacting sterilizing services

As there is an increased demand for the excellence Epworth Geelong provide to its patients and VMO’s, our operating theatres are continuing to expand. Currently our specialities include; Orthopaedics, Vascular, General, Macs Facs, ENT, Pain, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, Plastics, Neurosurgery and Urology. We operate Monday to Friday with emergencies on weekends which helps provide flexible rostering, giving our staff an excellent work/life balance. The annual salary range for Instrument Technicians - AUD $57,295 - $70,910 + super + entitlements dependent on year level and qualifications (prorated for part-time).
