**Role Description/Criteria**

Oscar Romero will exceed 650 students in 2024 and as a young school we are continuing to work on developing our welcoming and inclusive culture, consistent and contemporary pedagogy and school wide wellbeing practices, to ensure the learning experiences we offer inspire our students to be the best version of themselves.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to join our growing leadership team. The advertised Deputy Principal position will be the second Deputy Principal at Oscar Romero. As well as administrative duties, this position will have a Learning and Teaching focus. The specific curriculum area focus tagged with this position, will depend on the strengths and expertise of the successful applicant. The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively in a team with other dynamic leaders to ensure the best outcomes for all students. Applicants should demonstrate leadership qualities, including highly developed personal qualities, social and interpersonal skills and knowledge and understanding of the Victorian curriculum. An understanding of Evidence Based Learning, prior leadership experience and further studies will be considered an advantage.

Additional Requirements include:

- full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
- evidence of further studies completed (Masters or additional qualifications)
- a commitment to the ethos of a Catholic school and its mission
- ability to fulfill the MACS criteria to act as Deputy Principal in a Catholic school.
