Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing expert advice to ensure compliance with John Holland, Client, and Regulatory requirements
- Implementing and maintaining company safety inspections and audit schedules
- Carrying out site safety inspections and providing support to action corrective actions
- Liaising with Projects to gain insights into how to improve John Holland systems
- Developing and implementing strategies that improve operational performance.
- Providing to develop safety documentation such as SWMS and work plans
- Planning and facilitating construction hazard analysis and risk assessment activities
- Reviewing and implementing legislative and regulatory changes as required
- Managing and closing out non-compliance issues in a timely and efficient manner
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
- Excellent interpersonal skills are a must as well as relevant experience in a safety role is essential.
- Experience in the Construction industry is desirable, but not essential
- A Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent is highly desirable
- Knowledge developing and/or implementing Safety Management Systems or Safety Management Tools is highly desirable
- The ability to interpret project related documents, prepare reports and monitor compliance documentation is essential
- A high level of experience with Microsoft Office and Safety systems is essential
