Flying Bark Productions is working on exciting projects such as the recently announced Avatar: The Last Airbender feature film, Netflix's Stranger Things animated series, Marvel Studios’ What If ?, Disney Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Shaun Tan’s Tales From Outer Suburbia, Flying Bark’s own 200% Wolf movie, and many others. The Previs Artist will be responsible for executing the cinematographic aspects of the CG production for the Project. Working as a digital camera operator to create camera compositions and guided by the storyboards & Director and Layout HOD’s’ vision to provide a clear sense of action for the CG Layout and Animation departments. Please note: *You will be working directly with the client for this project (undisclosed).*

**Key Responsibilities**:
All duties and responsibilities as reasonably required by the Production Company of a Layout Artist, including:

- Work with existing storyboards to recreate and/or enhance the story through creative shot layout.
- Possess a strong sense of composition, animation timing and storytelling.
- Establish character blocking, camera framing, and camera movement.
- Responsible for the continuity and flow within and between shots.
- Experience with character rigs and possess a basic understanding of character animation.
- Work with asset departments and the editor to incorporate pre-visualization work into sequences.
- Provide lens information, camera placement, shot timing and rough character movement.
- Performs other tasks related to the creation of computer-generated animation as required.
- Work within the constraints of the pipeline, and provide feedback about where workflows could be improved;
- Strong communication and ability to work to a verbal or visual brief, flagging in advance any issues that may impact on
- Successful timely delivery of material or shots to Production and the Supervising crew;
- And all other duties and responsibilities as reasonably required by the Production Company.

**Key Measures of Success**:

- Director and Layout HOD’s vision is carried throughout the project.
- Continuity and flow between shots is consistent throughout the project.
- Fast problem solving and implementation of solutions.
- Establishing relationships with key members of production and artists.
- Take direction from a Supervisor as required as well as an ability to work autonomously;
- Be adaptable, flexible and responsive to changes.
- Complete tasks within production deadlines.

**Skillset**:

- Good sense of composition, animation timing and narrative storytelling;
- Solid experience and understanding of Maya in a production based environment;
- Solid knowledge of layout 2.5D and 3D workflows, live action and CG camera lens information, camera rigs and cinematography;
