Amana Community Services (ACS) is an aged and disability care provider established in 2020. ACS provides support for seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout greater Sydney. ACS is looking for passionate and committed Support Workers to join our organisation. We are keen to speak to people that are interested in establishing a career within the dynamic aged and disability sector. We will have a variety of ongoing shifts to suit your needs.
What does a disability/aged care support worker do?
Aged care and Disability support workers help aged and disabled people with a range of daily tasks.
Disability and aged care support workers help with **customer independence and quality of life**. They work in clients’ homes and provide both physical assistance and emotional support.
- Assisting people to **perform important daily activities**
- Facilitating **daily personal hygiene** and dressing tasks
- **Performing home based tasks** such as food preparation and housework
- **Undertaking tasks **outside the home such as shopping
- Ensuring a **varied program** of social activities
- Providing **emotional support** and friendship
**MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS**:
- National police check
- Employee working with children check
- Current first aid and CPR certificates
- NDIS Worker Screening
- Current driver's license and reliable car
- Certificate III Individual Support, Disability or higher (preferred)
**HIGHLY DESIRABLE**:
- Manual handling training and/or experience
- Experience supporting clients within their homes or in a similar setting.
- Arabic speaking
