**The opportunity**

Transport for NSW’s Corridor Identification and Protection team is seeking an enthusiastic urban planning or engineering professional. Experience in transport planning is highly desirable but not a requirement.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team shaping integrated land use and transport outcomes on long term city-shaping projects, including planning for future Metro corridors that will transform communities. Your work will
- support the delivery of the Future Transport Strategy and 10-Year Blueprint objectives and the NSW Government’s vision and priorities, to deliver strong outcomes for the people of NSW.
- contribute to identifying and securing land needed for critical future infrastructure, such as roads and rail lines, to deliver integrated land use and transport outcomes. This work is vital to ensuring communities in growing areas such as Western Sydney are well connected and become great places.
- involve collaboration with key partners, including the Department of Planning and Environment, to design future transport networks that meet people’s needs.

**About the role**

The main accountabilities of the role are as follows:

- Undertake research and analysis to identify and assess project options for future major transport infrastructure.
- Lead and contribute to developing clear and well-informed documents, such as Strategic Environmental Assessments, that provide a robust strategic justification for protecting land for future transport projects and can be used to engage with the community on key decisions.
- Manage consultants contributing specialist advice on planning, engineering, property, environmental and other fields to inform good decision-making.
- Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships, such as with internal TfNSW teams, the Department of Planning and Environment and other state government agencies and local councils, to understand their perspectives and aims, ensure collaborative outcomes are reached and to identify and mitigate risks.
- Ensure appropriate governance is in place for projects and be familiar with relevant policy, legislation, regulations, standards and procedures.
- Live the NSW Public Sector and organisational values to achieve outstanding outcomes for the organisation and customers.

There is an opportunity to grow your skills and experience in strategic transport planning, so that in time you can provide technical advice and evidence-based analysis on transport planning, land use, and network performance to support project development and delivery.
