**Job Purpose**

Reporting to the Chairman and the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer is in command of the Sementis Business and is responsible for its overall progress.
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for implementing the corporate strategic objectives and providing leadership to the team to ensure these objectives are met. The CEO is responsible for communicating strategic opportunities and targets to the Board and the wider team, while supporting teams in the achievement of goals through improved systems, training and knowledge.
The Chief Executive Officer oversees the day to day activities of the group, ensuring that the company has the structure, consistency, accountability and clarity to deliver on its strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include planning, managing and coordinating operations, while continually improving the performance, productivity and efficiency of the organisation within Board approved financial budgets.

**Responsibilities**
- To **work with and report to the Chairman day to day** as a representative of the Board of Directors.
- **To have a strong understanding and belief in the company values.** To treat the core values as a blueprint for behavior and make the core values part of everyday performance.
- **Keep the Chairman and the Board of Directors informed** **on a complete and timely basis** (monthly Board Meeting updates) of any material issues and any strategic developments or opportunities relevant to the company.
- Manage and oversee the development of the company's **intellectual property.**:

- **Work with the Chairman and the Board of Directors to raise ongoing funds** either by non-dilutive grants or equivalent, partnership or licensing deals or through sale of equity to shareholders.
- **Drive the overall corporate strategy.** Understand industry dynamics and position the organisation to be highly competitive and differentiated.
- **Develop an organisational culture in which performance matters** and employees are supported to achieve their highest level of potential.
- Ensure employees evaluate and take actions that are consistent with the company’s strategy.
- Review project and company performance against established targets and goals, **identify variance in results and recommend corrective actions.**:

- Develop, maintain and administer a sound **organisational plan**; initiate improvements as necessary for succession planning throughout the organisation.
- **Provide advice and recommendations to the Chairman and Board of Directors** regarding business development, revenue opportunities, policies, procedures, and risk management.
- **Use financial information to constructively challenge business activity** - either to increase profitability or improve efficiency.**
**Selection Criteria**
- **Depth of experience** - has a track record for making concepts reality - systems, design, production, people development programs.
- The ability to personally **implement or oversee the implementation of programs from start to finish** - strategic thinking, planning, and organizing. Know enough to ask the right questions and track performance.
- Must be a **Decision Maker,** not leaning on other Directors or Board for constant approval.
- **Problem solving** - has a strength in the ability to **solve problems, analyse warning signs, identify problems, and find the solutions.** Experience in risk management is important for this role.
