**Services Australia is seeking a Technical Writer to join the cyber security area.**

The Technical Writer should have experience in gathering information for and authoring technical and business process documentation relating to cyber security solutions and services, including with regards to secure gateway operations, monitoring and related Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) services. Experience in and knowledge of IBM QRadar, network gateways and the Mitre Att&ck and Mitre D3fend frameworks are preferred. Provide technical writing services to support a review of the current state, reporting options and recommendations specify an uplift and enhancement program for the reporting of cyber metrics to Customers of the Services Australia Shared Services Gateway.

The Technical Writers Key Tasks/Duties may include some or all of the following:

- Perform detailed analysis and evaluation of technical and business processes and requirements.
- Create and maintain technical and business process documentation to meet business needs.
- Adhere to delivery and support methodologies and contribute ideas for improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define tasks, resolve issues, solve problems, ensure effective and timely delivery of technical and business process documentation.
- Undertake project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of documents.
- Review research, process models and documentation of other staff, providing guidance and feedback.
- Resolve or escalate issues as required and suggest alternative approaches and solutions.
- Plan and drive scoping, definition and prioritisation activities for technical and business process documentation within complex transformation initiatives.
- Select, adopt and adapt appropriate process definition and management methods, tools and techniques to deliver technical and business process documentation and specifications.
- Obtain input from, and agreement to technical and business process requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Negotiate with stakeholders to manage competing priorities and conflicts.
- Establish documentation baselines.
- Ensure changes to documentation requirements are investigated and managed.

**Essential Criteria**
- Demonstrated experience and success in analysing requirements and writing technical and business process documents relating to cyber security solutions in large security operations centre (SOC) environments.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry Cyber Security frameworks, best practices and standards including the Mitre Att&ck and D3fend frameworks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of security requirements and solutions with regard to Federal Government information security policy (i.e. Information Security Manual, Protective Security Policy Framework) and the ACSCs Cyber Security principles and guidelines.
