**The Company**

The Better Buildings Team are experts in integrating environmental, social, and economic sustainability into buildings of all scales. They deliver buildings that are more comfortable, have cleaner, fresher air, cost less to operate and tread lightly on the environment.

**The Role**

Working closely with the Head, the Associate will also be responsible for managing and guiding the team, supporting them to manage workload, deliver exceptional outcomes, build skills and capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide input into the internal reporting processes including input on business plan KPI's, sales targets and project feedback by providing regular updates on expected project milestones as an input into the financial forecasts.
- Identify, foster, and lead opportunities to conduct research that encourages integrated approaches to sustainability, and development across multiple scales (from individual, to building, community, city and beyond).
- Build relationships with strategic partners and develop opportunities for work focused on integrated approaches to sustainability.
- Work collaboratively with clients to define project priorities and how the team can best work together.
- Support the Head of Better Buildings to effectively manage and plan for capacity, workflow and growth, and mentor and guide HIP V. HYPE People to build / extend knowledge, networks, and capabilities.
- Represent HIP V. HYPE at industry events, in media and other public appearances.
- Provide content for social media, articles, advocacy, events, thought leadership, awards and the Credentials to the Marketing & Communications Manager.
- Lead opportunity identification, proposal development, project budgeting and resource planning.

**About you**

You have an active interest in sustainability. You have strong technical skills and are well versed in energy and daylight modelling, passive design, water sensitive design, sustainable servicing strategies and embodied emissions. Your expertise in this area, familiarity of local building codes and standards allows you to see projects through effectively, with a client/ partner focus.

You are enthusiastic about sharing ideas - the market, clients, stakeholders, and your team. Ideally you have an interest in being part and managing a team with a proven ability to guide and mentor people, setting clear direction and performance expectations.

Ideally you will possess:

- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in sustainability or related field
- Relevant qualification in engineering, sustainable design, or related discipline
- Industry accreditations such as Green Star, LBC, Passivhaus Design
- Ability to identify opportunities to continuously improve our processes and practices
- Proficient in using InDesign, Microsoft Office, and project management
