**Role Description/Criteria**

**EXPRESSION OF INTEREST**
- Support the learning journeys of students in a progressive secondary school
- Various part time positions ranging from 0.2 - 0.6 FTE
- Fixed term across Semester 2

**THE POSITION**

As part of the Tutor Learning Initiative SHC is seeking Mathematics Tutors. Great opportunity for Pre-Service teacher with Mathematics Method to undertake.

The Tutor plays a key role in supporting student achievement. Working in collaboration with experienced Teachers, the tutors will support and coach students of the College to create opportunities for individual growth in knowledge and skills.

**The main elements of the role include but are not limited to;**
- Utilising student data to implement learning programs
- Working with students in small, targeted groups to encourage conceptual understanding of key mathematical skills
- Build positive relationships to facilitate student learning in Mathematics
- Supporting students to increase their levels of engagement, confidence and motivation
- Monitor student progress and communicate with the classroom teacher, Numeracy Coordinator and other key College personnel
- Other reasonable duties as directed

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**

**Proven experience required includes**:

- VIT Registration or evidence of enrolment in an accredited Teacher Education University Course
- Excellent communication skills and strong ability to work within a team
- Proven proficiency in Mathematics from Year 7 through to VCE levels
- Commitment to work in a highly professional manner
- Understanding and/or appreciation of the principles of a Catholic community
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Child Safety legislation and responsibilities

**Desirable experience includes**:

- Experience with students with diverse learning needs
- Current Victorian Driver’s License
- Previous experience tutoring
