**About the Role**

As Governance Officer, you will work in a small and welcoming team providing high-level administrative support to Council’s Governance function.

You will support officers with report writing and coordinate communication with stakeholders, including Council’s senior leadership team, Councillors, and community members. You will work across the organisation to contribute to and influence good governance practices and legislative compliance.

With the assistance of your team, you will manage the compilation and publication of agendas and minutes, maintain internal registers, support the delivery of Council Meetings, and plan and deliver Citizenship Ceremonies and other Civic events when required.

Some after-hours work is required in this role.

You will be committed to providing outstanding customer service to all stakeholders and be able to prioritise and manage competing tasks and deadlines.
You will be self-motivated and willing to learn on the job.
You will be able to respect and handle confidential information, and your interpersonal skills will allow you to collaborate with other areas of the organisation to solve minor problems.
Knowledge of the Local Government Act 2020 or relevant Local Government experience is highly regarded but not essential.
