Vintage Assistant Winemaker

This is a hands on position which requires participation in all aspects of the winemaking process from vineyard to finished wine including fruit processing and pressing, record keeping and laboratory analysis, fermentation monitoring and additions as well as post fermentation barrel work and stabilisation.

The position requires the ability to work under the guidance of the chief winemaker and vineyard manager to produce wines within the house style.

Sutton Grange Winery produces an award winning range of red, white and rose table wine as well as a small amount of Ancestral Method sparkling wines from 13Ha of estate grown grapes and on occasion a small amount of grower produced fruit.

Situated at the cooler southern end of the Bendigo Wine region, the estate is close to Castlemaine and the city of Bendigo with Melbourne just an hour and a half away.

Job Requirements
- Degree qualification in winemaking
- Solid vintage and winemaking experience
- Experience in a small winery environment
- Forklift License
- A strong focus on Safety
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in leading small teams
