Lockyer Valley Regional Council is seeking an experienced and proactive Manager Community Recreation and Facilities to lead community facilities, parks, recreation, cemeteries and vegetation control activities across the region. Reporting to the Group Manager Infrastructure, this newly created role will lead the strategy, planning and structure to deliver sustainable services for future communities.

The Manager Community and Recreation Facilities is a key position at Council and will work closely with the Executive Leadership team, elected members, and staff in delivering key services and facilities for the benefit of the community.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Development of strategic frameworks around community facilities including asset management plans, service planning, reviews and growth management.
- Leadership of the maintenance and operation of community facilities including buildings, cemeteries, swimming pools, sporting facilities, vegetation management and sale yards
- Management of a diverse team of professional, technical, administrative, trades and operational staff to build a high performing team with both the capability and capacity to support the community infrastructure now and into the future.
- Stakeholder engagement around the provision of affordable and sustainable service delivery.

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**:

- Extensive experience at a senior level in a local government or similar organisation providing parks, gardens and cemetery services and /or buildings and facilities management.
- Demonstrated high level leadership and organisational skills including financial management and development of resource plans.
- Extensive experience working with key stakeholders including Councillors, the community and diverse interest groups.
- Ability to develop and lead a high performing workforce.
- Tertiary qualifications in horticulture, facilities management, business or other relevant disciplines.
