The purpose of the role is to provide technical support to the RSC laboratory to ensure delivery of high-quality analytical data in appropriate timeframes.
- Participate in the preparation, dispatch, and receiving of RSC's various secure sample kits and bags.
- Ensure that sample bags are dispatched efficiently, accurately and in accordance with the SMT procedures/policies.
- When required to do so, liaise with QRIC's Stewarding units to ensure correct sample kits are delivered to the designated locations and are returned by the due dates.
- Protect the integrity and security of the Sample Management Area by managing the adherence to current work instructions, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Receive, document, aliquot and prepare samples for submission to the RSC laboratory in an effective and timely manner. Sample matrices including blood, urine, hair, and other sample types.
- Report all non-compliances in the packaging of the samples and update the database of security bag and kit usage against the annual quota.
- When required to do so, undertake the supervision of small work groups, and take responsibility for quality of output by the group.
- Comply with the relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instruction Manuals (WIMs) and propose changes & improvements that will improve the efficiency of the SMT operations.
- Comply with NATA/ISO 17025 accreditation requirements including performing quality control procedures, documentation of sample management procedures, completion of relevant statistics and ensuring that the biological and legal integrity of samples meets QRIC's reporting requirements.
- Actively participate in a team environment and contribute to a positive culture, where team members enjoy coming to work, and understand the contributions their role plays in the success of business outcomes.
- Model the safety culture of QRIC by reporting all incidents and hazards and ensuring work is undertaken in the safest way possible, following all WHS legislation, policies/procedures, and guidelines relevant to the job.
- Demonstrate ethical behaviour and integrity as required by the Public Sector Ethics Act 1994.

Mandatory Minimum Qualification - A Certificate III in laboratory techniques or equivalent.
