What will your typical day look like?
- Reads work orders and specifications to determine if machines and equipment needs repair or maintenance.
- Read operational manuals to ensure machines are serviced and maintained as per manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faults or defects and find the most suitable solution to repair faults in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Comply with tagging out procedures to ensure electrical safety is not breached.
- Maintain and service the Wastewater treatment plant.
- Report the need to consult with external service providers when there is a safety concern relating to any plant or equipment.
- Ensure machinery controls are set up according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Lubricates, oils, or applies adhesive, or other material to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Replaces or repairs metal, wood, leather, glass, or other lining in machine or equipment compartments or containers.
- Dismantle machines, remove machine parts, and reassemble machines, using hand tools and or mechanical aids.
- Cleans machine and machine parts, using cleaning solvent, cloth, air gun, hose, vacuum, or other equipment.
- Removes hardened material from machine or machine parts, using abrasives, power and hand tools, jackhammer, sledgehammer, or other equipment.
- Collects and discards worn machine parts and other garbage to maintain machinery and work areas.
- Transports machine parts, tools, equipment and other material between work areas and storage, using crane, hoist, or dolly.
- Records and maintains production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
- Measures, mixes, prepares and tests chemical solutions used to clean or repair machinery and equipment, according to product specifications.
