TRENDPAC LABORATORIES PTY LTD (ABN 31 001 627 103) is looking for a Toolmaker for our manufacturing business in Berkeley Vale, NSW.
TrendPac was established by Jim Hyde and Ken Twigg in 1963 (trading then as Hu-Chem Pty Ltd). The company’s initial focus was on Hair Care products, and during the 1970s our operations expanded into the Household Cleaning sector. In 1982 Ken Twigg passed away, and the Hyde Family bought out the Twigg Family’s share of the company. In 1992 we established our own plastic moulding facility to enable us to supply packaging directly into our filling facility.
We have 60 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. We pride ourselves on our reliability and we treat our customers’ brands as our own. TrendPac is a FBA NSW & ACT Hall of Fame Inductee.
To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification or at least 3 years' experience in a similar position.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- studying drawings and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of articles to be manufactured and models to be constructed
- measuring and marking out metal stock and castings using various gauges
- shaping metal and wood stock using machine tools
- Basic computer skills essential
- intermediate level preferred.
- checking accuracy of manufactured articles and finished patterns to fine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments
- testing and modifying manufactured articles
- Proven ability to work autonomously
- assembling pattern sections and shaping work pieces to specified finish
- excellent communication skills
- pouring and spreading materials into moulds and over models of patterns, and building laminations of fibreglass cloth and plastic resin to fabricate patterns
- repairing broken and damaged patterns and correcting patterns to compensate for defects in casting
- problem solving skills highly desirable
- constructing templates for layout and inspection
- Making and repairing tools, dies, jigs, fixtures and other precision parts to fine tolerances for machine tools
