The role of Transport for NSW is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions

**About the team**

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

**The opportunity**

Right now, we have** a Full-Time Permanent and a Limited Duration** Fixed Term** Full-Time opportunity** for Road Workers Grade 1-3 to join our Maintenance & Delivery Teams based in **Waratah, NSW**.

The team delivers road maintenance activities such as road safety widening & barrier installs, enhanced road pavements, overtaking lanes and heavy patching works**.**

You’ll undertake a range of duties as part of a crew and independently, including:

- Maintenance of established pavements.
- Establishment and maintenance of roadside fixtures and signage.
- Vegetation management including brush cutting, removing trees and trimming branches.
- Litter removal and clean-up of the road corridor.
- Incident response and removal of immediate hazards to road users.
- Graffiti removal from transport structures.
- Cleaning drainage structures.
- Construction of new or enhanced pavements.
- Application of road marking materials.

Road Workers are provided with thorough training and opportunities to develop professionally

**About you**

We’re seeking a team-oriented worker who has an eye for detail and is used to working in similar environments.

You are a practical thinker, quick learner and great communicator who enjoys being physically active performing outdoor manual tasks involving the use of hand tools and equipment within a team setting. You must hold the following qualifications:

- White Card
- Current driver’s licence
- Workers on Foot

HR or MR Truck Licence and Traffic Control tickets desirable but essential

You’re prepared to work outside normal working hours, attend callouts, travel across the region and stay away from home when needed.

**Wage and Benefits**

The wage for this position is **Road Worker Grade 1-3 ($1,184.50 - $1,248.20)** per week plus superannuation and allowances.
