The Partnerships and Projects Division plays an important role in achieving economic and community development and unlocking potential across Australia’s regions and supports the delivery of key national priorities. Our teams develop genuine partnerships between the three levels of government, business and community to support the delivery of key national priorities. Our teams deliver government priorities right across Australia.

The Partnerships and Projects Division has five branches:

- Cities and Suburbs Unit - is home to the Australian Government’s vision for more liveable and sustainable cities, suburbs and growing regional centres. The team is developing the Government’s National Urban Policy, State of the Cities Report, delivering the regional Precincts and Partnerships Program, developing the urban Precincts and Partnerships Program and supporting the Planning Ministers’ Meeting, Heads of Planning meeting, Urban Policy Forum and Urban Policy Network.
- City and Regional Partnerships - manages infrastructure partnerships in regional and urban growth areas across the nation to deliver projects that will meet the particular needs and ambitions of local communities. These partnerships bring together all levels of government in consultative, place-based multi-jurisdictional best practice.
- Northern Australia Investments and Projects - is responsible for some of the key critical infrastructure projects across Australia’s top end. These projects will unlock the potential of northern Australia. Our work includes oversight of the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility and other large-scale projects such as the Government’s commitment to common user infrastructure at the Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct in Darwin and to ports in the Pilbara.
- Office of Northern Australia (ONA) - is responsible for articulating the Australian Government’s vision for the development of northern Australia, working collaboratively across northern Australian jurisdictions (Northern Territory, Queensland and Western Australia) as well as with First Nations, industry and investment partners. The ONA also provides executive secretariat support for the Northern Australia Indigenous Reference Group and the Northern Australia Ministerial Forum, two key advisory bodies in the development of northern Australia.
- Housing Support Branch - is responsible for developing and delivering the Australian Government’s Housing Support Program (HSP). The HSP is one of a range of programs designed to help achieve the National Housing Accord’s target of building 1.2 million new, well-located homes over 5 years from 1 July 2024.

**What will you do?**
Working semi-autonomously but under the guidance of senior team members, you will be responsible for delivering tasks, including:

- Providing input to the development and implementation of policies and programs to implement the government’s nation-building development agenda.
- Providing input to briefings for senior executives and Ministers.
- Supporting effective governance and risk management arrangements across a range of programs and activities.
- Working with a wide range of stakeholders, including First Nations Australians, to develop and implement programs.
- Providing secretariat support to Ministerial and other forums.
- Providing advice on possible investment proposals.
- Supporting grant program development and administration.
- Provide input to a range of proposals from across government to represent the interests of northern Australia.

**Who are we looking for?**
To be successful in this role, you will need to:

- Possess experience in one or more of the following areas: Policy development, program/project development and implementation, secretariat support, or a similar role.
- Demonstrate effective organisational skills, including the ability to multitask under time pressures to meet deadlines and a proven record of taking responsibility to deliver results.
- Showcase strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver clear, concise, and easily understood information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and liaison skills. Experience in stakeholder relationships that achieve successful outcomes may be an advantage.
- Display an enthusiastic and flexible approach including the ability to adapt to change, resilience under pressure and the ability to navigate uncertainty.
