- Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

**Roster**:7D/7N/14R - FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

Our Chichester Hub in the Chichester Ranges, comprising the Cloudbreak and Christmas Creek mines, has an annual production capacity of approximately 100mtpa from three Ore Processing Facilities (OPFs).

Consistent and sustained output delivered from the OPFs has allowed us to optimise our product strategy through enhanced blending and beneficiation, increasing iron upgrades and reducing impurities. This has contributed to lower mining cut-off grades, as we optimise ore bodies with sustainably lower strip ratios.

The Christmas Creek OPF infrastructure is being upgraded to include a Wet High Intensity Magnetic Separator (WHIMS) plant to further maximise production rates and enhance the value of our ore.

Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist/ Senior Process Engineer this role will see you assist the team in conducting sampling, test work and plant trials. On a daily basis you will operate and maintain fine instruments on site as well as the below responsibilities.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Regular plant sampling around dry and wet sections of CC OPF’s
- Data Entry and despatch of samples to MAL.
- Project sample collection & preparation (Dry Screening, Rotary Splitting, Riffling, ROTAPS, Wet Screening, Moisture Determination, Chemical Analysis Prep etc.)
- Provide technical support to the processing team
- Developing and enriching mini-business units (MBU) and implementation of 5s ideology.
- Support work for the Process Engineering Team (e.g.: panel collection & deliveries, belt cut support crew, thickener quality observation, screen integrity spot checks, feed sample collection, settling test work, plant water quality monitoring).
- Actively consulting and implementing continuous improvement in workflow processes and strategies
- Ensuring test plans are carried out in line with the company requirements
- Coordinate and execute testwork as instructed by Metallurgists
- Ensure daily pre-start checks & calibrations are completed
- Correctly monitoring and logging test work

**Education and Experience**:

- Previous site based metallurgical experience (Iron Ore preferably)
- Strong organisational & planning skills
- MR Licence preferred, if not C Class Drivers Licence (Manual)
- Telehandler ticket would be beneficial
- Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets preferred but not essential
- Senior First Aid Certificate preferred but not essential
