**Our Opportunity**:
The Resource Definition department are looking for an experienced Specialist Hydrogeologist to join our drilling teams located throughout Western Australia’s northern areas.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for coordinating with key stakeholders and scheduling team to provide accurate and achievable 3 monthly hydro drilling and test pumping plan, maintaining a 6-12 month outlook
- Responsible for adjusting schedules based on quarterly reviews and disseminating to stakeholders
- Support and liaise with Senior Hydrogeologists daily regarding drilling progress and site conditions to enable effective forecasting and budgeting
- Maintain a high level of communication with our customers (water planning, projects teams) to ensure any constraints are flagged early and managed effectively for successful project delivery
- Working with a minimum 6-12 month outlook to ensure hub senior hydrogeologists and respective teams are set up for success from project setup and commencement, through to completion
- Take a proactive approach to recruitment by assisting senior hydrogeologists in seeking high-performing hydrogeologists and technical staff to help build team and maintaining staff retention
- Ensure Scope of work instructions and project technical objectives are obtained prior to project commencement
- Identify cost saving measures within the department and implement using existing tools (e.g. Eureka)
- Undertake specialised Hydrogeology related projects as required
- Assist Cost Controller in obtaining quotations and raising PO’s, as well as ordering materials as required
- Provide monthly hydro drilling and testing report to Management team promptly, indicating adherence to plan, and identifying any risks, threats, opportunities, highlights/lowlights for reporting period
- Assist Senior Hydrogeologists with project kick-off meetings and in mid-project meetings (internal stakeholders and contracting partners) to trouble-shoot issues encountered

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- 10 years + field experience with Hydrogeological projects
- A thorough understanding of Fortescue workflows and systems
- Excellent analytical, planning, and prioritizing skills with the ability to utilize knowledge gained
- Ability to interpret and analyze geological and hydrogeological data in a timely manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop good working relationships
- Ability to work independently and confidently in a demanding environment
- Tertiary Qualification in Hydrogeology/Geology or related discipline
- Exceptional leadership skills
