**About the opportunity**

This is your opportunity to take on a leadership position in the team increasing the uptake of electric vehicles (EVs) in NSW. Australia’s EV uptake, including rates of EV uptake in NSW, are significantly behind fast-growing global markets. Help us tackle the challenges of:

- persistent barriers to EV uptake
- empowering customers to make informed decisions about their current and future vehicle choices
- the charging infrastructure gaps occurring across regional and metropolitan NSW
- addressing the integration of EV’s across NSW’s energy grid.

Our Net Zero Transport team is seeking two experienced and agile** Program Managers** to deliver programs within the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (NSW DCCEEW). If this is you, you will help our customers and partners in industry, NSW Government agencies and the public to transition to electric vehicles and ultimately help the state reach net zero emissions.

**The team delivers $330 million in initiatives focusing on fleets, public EV charging and consumer information, to accelerate the uptake of EVs in NSW.**
- You will be: _
- working with diverse and passionate stakeholders from industry, local councils and NSW government agencies to support the adoption of electric vehicles and the successful implementation of the NSW Electric Vehicle Strategy
- working in a team that aims to deliver tangible outcomes across 6 major initiatives - from ensuring there is a sufficient mix of charging options across fast chargers, regional destinations, apartment retrofits and kerbside charging, to supporting fleets to transition to EVs and creating a suite of consumer information to inform and empower potential NSW EV motorists
- contributing to the rapid delivery of a world-class charging network that meets diverse needs across all NSW motorists
- developing initiatives to support the integration of EVs into the electricity grid in NSW
- part of the team delivering substantial emission reductions from the transport sector and supporting the State’s objective to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

As the programs are developed, you will continue to support their successful delivery and be able to look back and say that you were an instrumental part of transforming NSW into the easiest place to own and operate an EV.

- EV Fleets - Grid Integration - $105 million (1 role)_

In this role you will be dedicated to the development and coordination of initiatives related to the uptake of EVs in NSW fleets, as well as the grid integration of electric vehicles. This includes the management of the NSW Fleets Incentive, and additional research, trials involving fleets, capacity building initiatives and involvement in state-based and national committees and other program development related to EV charge management, vehicle-to-building and vehicle-to-grid.

As required, your enthusiasm and attention to detail will also be utilised in the delivery of other initiatives designed to support the electrification of fleets.

This role currently has 6 staff and is responsible for managing a programs with a $105 million budget envelope 30 June 2026.
- Destination and Kerbside Charging - $30 million (1 role)_

The role is responsible for the management of two nation-leading programs that are aimed at supporting the rollout of EV charging infrastructure in different settings.

The Kerbside Charging program is a $10 million grants initiative over four years aimed at supporting industry to install over 500 public chargers across metropolitan NSW kerbside and carpark locations.

The Destination Charging program supports regional tourist sites across NSW to install AC destination chargers through a $20 million co-funding grants stream.

This role is responsible for managing 7 staff and delivering these programs within a $30 million total budget envelope through to 30 June 2026.
