The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).
- You will join a highly supportive tertiary trauma counselling team providing both crisis and ongoing counselling interventions, alongside community education and other prevention focused activities. The service adopts a strength-based, family focussed and culturally centred trauma-informed approach to working with children and families.

The Aboriginal Sexual Assault Counsellor will support engagement with Aboriginal communities, stakeholders and clients; also providing cultural consultation to support non-Aboriginal clinicians working with First Nations children and families where appropriate. Professional development will be provided alongside generous clinical supervision, cultural supervision and peer supervision arrangements. The team will suit clinicians who enjoy diverse, fast paced, client-centred work with a strong dedication to reducing violence in the lives of individuals and communities whilst contributing to the decolonisation of NSW Health services.
