**The Role**

The Safety Advisor at Patties Food Group plays a pivotal role within the business to ensure develop, implement and maintain Work Health and Safety polices and manage best practices to ensure a healthy and safe workplace for all employees. This is a contract based part-time role located at our Perth site.

You can make this role your own and you will have the flexibility to work three days per week over a 4-month fixed term duration. You will oversee implementation on the WHS management system (i.e. via WHS policies and procedure manuals).
- Support management, supervisors, team leaders, and staff in complying with their legislated WHS duties and responsibilities by providing timely and relevant coaching, advice and/or support on a broad range of safety topics, such as, hazards, near misses, risk assessments, manual handling, injury management, risk controls and reviewing effectiveness of implemented control measures.
- Oversee the continual improvement of safety inductions for all contractors, staff and Users to ensure they are appropriately briefed on WHS policies and procedures.
- Ensure up to date maintenance and data entry of records, registers and logs and other documentation to facilitate compliance with WHS management system.
- Support Managers and Supervisors in the implementation of regular Toolbox talks, daily pre-start meetings by presenting and creating targeted safety content.
- Collaborate with the Safety Manager to create, implement, and review Safe Work Procedures and Risk Assessments.
- Work with other key stakeholders such as Human Resources, Quality, Production and Maintenance to understand safety requirements.
- Perform site-based audits and safety walks to identify and address risks.
- Support the reduction of Lost Time Injuries (LTI) and Medical Treatment Injuries (MTI) and their severity.
- Act as the RTW Coordinator, handling workers' compensation and return-to-work.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to maintain compliance with mandatory regulations and safety standards.
- Coach employees and managers on health and safety initiatives and ensure appropriate training and resources for first aid.
- Administration of the MyOSH database.

**The Person**

The successful applicant for the role will have demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within the FMCG industry as well as;
- Believe that safety is important in the lives of all employees
- Energetic and likes to roll up the sleeves
- Empathic and strong communicator to be able to communicate with people at all levels and those that do not have English as their first language
- Collaborative, and coaching style in working with Managers, Supervisors and Factory Staff
- Strong business writing skills
- Confidence to deliver safety briefings and toolbox talks to a range of stakeholders
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in similar role
- Be able to contribute to a positive and professional team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient use of the Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook and Excel)
- Experience with MyOSH Platform
- Ability to influence and support the shaping of a positive safety culture
