**Mechanical Drafting - Engineers Assistant**

Our client is currently looking for a person who can bring Mechanical Drafting skills to their business and learn this varied role as an advancement in their career.

You don't have to be an expert, you just need to be confident in your understanding of mechanical components and how things work.

They are looking for a stable, energetic and suitably qualified person to join their team of long term dedicated staff members.

Typically they are looking for a person who has been involved with Mining Equipment, and possibly worked in a mechanical workshop.

Ideally you have also sought to further your career with a mechanical course through TAFE or University, where you have learnt to hand sketch and use Autocad 2D and/or Solidworks 3D software. You will need to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.

A forklift Licence would be an advantage but not essential.

**Daily Duties will include**
- Check incoming goods meet drawing specifications
- Palletise and wrap outgoing goods to meet quality standards
- Learn to use proprietary software to generate new jobs and orders
- Measure and Hand sketch mechanical components, using fine measuring equipment
- Respond to new and existing customer enquiries.
- Design and develop engineering solutions.
- Preparation of quotations.
- Build a rapport with customers, and develop new business opportunities where possible.
- Liaise with our management team and workshop supervisors.

A medium level of proficiency in searching the internet and using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are also necessary skills for this role.
