The Role

Reporting to the Head of Global Procurement, the Network Procurement Officer (APAC / EUR) is responsible for the administrative and operational support for the procurement of infrastructure, network services and internet services in the APAC/EUR region that underpin the Megaport platform. The role encompasses a wide range of tasks to ensure that we deliver a network that balances an optimal network design with accurate inventory management and effective cost controls.

As Megaport continues to expand its ecosystem, the Network Procurement team works to procure the infrastructure and network services that underpin Megaport’s position as the leading Network as a Service platform globally. In the Network Procurement Officer (APAC/EUR) role, you combine your market knowledge with creativity to find solutions that support Megaport’s global expansion. You have the potential to impact every part of the business and drive material savings in Megaport’s operating costs. You’ll ensure that Megaport drive cost effective compliance on our 3rd party agreements while identifying the most cost effective solutions for our needs. You’ll assist on special projects, manage all aspects of vendor relations and present your recommendations to the Head of Global Procurement and Network Procurement Officer.

What you will be doing- Raising purchase order (and the pre-requisite business justifications) for network infrastructure and services.- Working in conjunction with the Network Procurement Officer and Head of Global Procurement to identify new market route requirements and cost estimates.- Consult with Network Engineering and Operations, as required, to ensure that new route(s) adhere to Megaport design specifications.- Preparation and issuance of RFP / RFQ for new site connectivity requirements, capacity growth or network augmentation.- Manage preliminary communications with external vendors and prepare response evaluation and recommendations to the Network Procurement Officer and Head of Global Procurement.- Drive contract execution with new third-party suppliers supported by Megaport’s in-house Legal team.- Internal contract execution and ensuring collection of fully executable contracts.- Ongoing review of upcoming out of contract services for leverage to re-contract and drive cost savings.- Communicate progress internally using JIRA and collaborate with Network Deployment and other technical teams. This involves end to end ownership from service order execution through to circuit delivery, including the creation of JIRA tickets for new services, cost savings, reporting, and accountability for service delivery targets.- Maintain and update our network inventory management system(s) to ensure data integrity and accuracy.- Authenticate 3rd party costs through a monthly validation process.- Identify, record, and assess network related risk as part of the prescribed internal risk management framework.- Ownership of Megaport network KMZ files; including audit and review of existing services/circuits ensuring all routes are up to date.- Ownership of Megaport network database; including audit and review of existing services/circuits ensuring all routes are up to date.

What we are looking for- Experience in strategic consultations and/or business development obtaining services from technology providers in network transport, internet transit, and telecommunications services.- 2 years of relevant work experience including experience with contract development and vendor management across multiple vendors simultaneously in technology related domains.- Some experience with networking technologies across the OSI (Open Systems Interconnect) model preferred.- Understanding of contractual framework, with the ability to discuss complex agreements with partners/vendors/suppliers.
