
Quality & Training Officer

We are a family-owned Australian business located in Dandenong specialising in making delicious veggie burgers and schnitzels and other speciality gourmet foods.
We are currently looking for friendly, hard-working, and reliable person seeking ongoing employment to become key member of our food safety team to conduct hands on day-to-day activities to achieve our food safety and quality goals.
**About the role**
Working under the guidance of, and as a member of, our experienced food safety and management team, you will be required to:
- Ensure our operations comply with our Food Safety Program, the SQF Standard and the FSANZ Food Standards.
- Perform and co-ordinate activities for our HACCP Support Programs including GMP, Approved Supplier, Testing, Calibration, Cleaning and Pest Control programs.
- Develop training resources and document procedures and, use these to build the competencies and skills of our production team and their commitment to supplying safe, high-quality foods.
**Skills and experience**
To be suitable for this position you will have successfully completed a food technology or food science degree and ideally you will have worked for 2 years in similar roles or work environments. Applicants from graduates with limited experience will be considered.
If you are well suited to this role you will:
- Be able to identify and clearly communicate microbial, allergen, chemical and foreign matter food safety risks and how to prevent and control them.
- Have the capacity to learn and understand our production processes, document procedures, and communicate to our production team members how to perform production tasks safely to produce safe food products.
- Be an enthusiastic champion of food safety and quality with the ability to motivate and train our production team members.
- Demonstrate a high level of competency in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
**Hours of employment**
Typical working hours are _9:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday._
Flexibility is required to attend outside these hours and on Saturday from time to time where it is required to build knowledge and skills, develop relationships or to perform specific tasks.
**Work eligibility**
You must be eligible to work in Australia and ideally you are an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident.
