**About the role**:
We are seeking experienced procurement leaders to deliver strategic procurement and supply chain fit for purpose outcomes that optimise Aurizon's supply base and improve the overall value proposition.

There are 2 positions available; one will sit in the Above Rail Procurement Team managing our Rollingstock contracts and suppliers. You will be required to develop fleet solutions for our customers and help to improve the whole asset performance.

You’ll have a small team to lead, so we are seeking someone who is passionate about supporting, coaching and developing their team, setting them up for success.
- Accountable for developing and implementing the category strategy and management plan across key categories within the portfolio
- Partner with stakeholders to understand objectives and to identify, mitigate and manage risks associated with procurement and supply chain activities
- Develop and maintain market intelligence across supply markets, emerging trends, analyse data and provide alternative supply option recommendations to key stakeholders in a timely manner
- Responsible for providing end-to-end source to contract expertise, as well as delivering commercial contract and supplier performance management outcomes
- Identify cost savings and produce tangible procurement, contract management and aggregation benefits
- Ensure understanding of and adherence to relevant legislation (Competition and Consumer Act, ACCC etc.), legal principles and corporate policies/procedures
- Demonstrated delivery of continuous improvement initiatives utilising highly developed commercial and business acumen

**About you**: As a senior member of the team, you will have a strong background in OEM Manufacturing / Capital Equipment procurement strategies with a demonstrated capacity to build solid business relationships. You are a successful leader with demonstrated capability in leading successful teams.
- Substantial commercial experience in negotiating, managing counterparts and building commercial relationships in a leadership capacity in an ASX listed organisation.
- Nationally recognised professional commercial accreditation (e.g. University diploma or other body (e.g. CIPS, CA, CPA, CFA) (preferred).
- Experience in leading, developing and managing a high-performing team in a complex, dynamic environment.
- Technical procurement and/or Supply chain skills (preferred).
- People leadership and performance management skills optimising the team and individuals' performance in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to under pressure perform multiple concurrent tasks and responsibilities, and to deal with changing priorities, while maintaining personal effectiveness.
- Ability to articulate a business case for change, and to influence relevant stakeholders to deliver that sustainably.
- Ability to think and act strategically combined with ability to articulate complex matters succinctly to influence and drive decision making.
- High level communication, negotiation and consultation skills that build and sustain productive relationships.
