The Role
The role will primarily be as an interface between suppliers, contractors, and ECU. As a PCBU, with recent changes to OHS regulation, responsibility for safety is across the board from ECU staff to contractors and sub-contractors, and ECU wish to ensure continuous improvement in this space.

The role will be at the coalface of contractor management - checking that documentation is in order and that safety is also being practiced on site, in accordance with provided JSAs, Risk assessments, etc. A positive, adaptable, can-do, hands-on attitude to additional ad-hoc operational needs is essential, as the scope of the role may evolve over time.

Key Criteria
To be successful in this role you will need to have following key attributes/experience:
5 yrs.+ experience in a compliance, facilities, or similar role.

Knowledge of OHS regulation and requirements - particularly around the recent harmonisation changes.

An WHS, technical, or trade background would be highly regarded.

A safety focused approach & excellent people skills essential.

PC literate & comfortable with report writing and assessment of documentation.

Applicable formal technical education and qualifications would be highly regarded.

Excellent written and spoken business and technical English, suitable for working directly with contractors and key stakeholders.

Coached/mentored supervisors and other employees to ensure they have the required knowledge and skills to deliver best practice safety and health results.

Experience in conducting site risk assessments.

Provision of safety advice and technical support across multiple sites.

Experience with safety management systems and site safety audits.

Ability to conduct safety inspections of sites and provide advice and assistance to site personnel.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.

Benefits & Remuneration
These positions attract a remuneration of $88,973 to $95,993 per annum (pro-rata for part-time appointment) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
