**About the Business Unit**:
The Finance Branch leads the department's efforts to ensure it complies with government financial management and performance policies to achieve its priorities and add value. It is responsible for the department's financial and budgetary strategies, policies and processes. The business unit also leads investment and performance analysis - a strengthened accountability.

**About the Role**:
The Analyst Financial Governance and Compliance uses contemporary practice and risk management mindset to find patterns, trends, and insights that inform and support decision-making, planning and process design, to drive strong finance governance and implementing a compliance management program, providing finance executives a holistic view of compliance levels within Finance and assurance that the Chief Financial Officer and Secretary continue to meet their obligations.

Some of your duties will include:

- Implementing a finance-wide compliance framework/program to ensure Finance is meeting its obligations including the monitoring and reporting on compliance levels for leadership awareness and action, as required, to address non-compliance, including monitoring and tracking audit actions.
- Leading strategic review and publication of policies, procedures and standards to ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Management Act 1994 and alignment with the strategic objectives of the department.
- Proactively driving the value of, and embed proactive practice of, risk management and business continuity across finance, by bringing attention to critical exposure or opportunities to better protect and create value. Lead the periodic review and refresh of the Finance risk profile and coordinate review and testing of business continuity plans.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
